Medical Data Analyst

Position:      Full-Time
Location:     Charlottesville, VA
Start Date:  Immediate
Experience: 3-5 years

Position Description / Summary of Duties:

Provide data collection and analytical support to further decision-maker's and materiel developer's knowledge and understanding of attacks on friendly armored vehicles within current theatre of operations or specified areas of intelligence interest.  Support analysis of effects of threat weapons on US armored vehicles by acquiring, databasing, and analyzing detailed medical data for armored vehicle crew members associated with attacks on the vehicles.

Perform data capture, entry, processing, retrieval, and analysis of medical data caused by threat attacks on armored vehicles in support of current and future US Army operations.  Perform data capture of Army and other Service medical and wounds through coordination and interface with the Services medical communities, Joint Trauma and Prevention of Injury in Combat (JTAPIC), and/or the Joint Theatre Trauma Registry (JTTR).  Perform daily data entry and processing, adding medical details to Anti-armor Incident Database records of attacks.  Input wounds data within 72 hours of receipt. 

Screen unclassified and classified databases, networks, and web-site data sources and identify significant and relevant information for further processing.  Attach additional relevant reporting associated with data records of attacks.  Cross-check AATF data with other data sources to improve AATF data and synchronize it with other data sources, in-theatre, within the Services medical communities, or as appropriate. 

Perform quality management of Anti-armor Incident Database records and ensure records meet standards for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.  Perform quality review of AATF analytical products to ensure medical data is properly reflected.
Analyze threat capabilities, threat weapons, and enemy tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP).  Perform basic trend and pattern analysis and identify significant trends regarding enemy capabilities.  Draft analytic products and assessments.  Be subject matter expert regarding medical data, injury/wounds trends, or other focus area as assigned.

Provide written and oral reports and briefings to DoD and other government agencies.

Answer Requests for Information (RFI) from a broad range of customers, using a variety of analytic tools such as MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint.  Cross-reference reporting using data retrieval tools such as WebTAS and InteLink.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools required; knowledge of Microsoft Access or similar relational database desired.  Working knowledge of DoD automated intelligence systems such as JWICS and SIPRnet is a plus.

Must have working experience in the medical administration/reporting field.

Education Required: BA/BS degree
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI
