Data Solutions & Technology Receives NBCFAE Bronze Eagle Award

NBCFAE logo(BALTIMORE, Md.) – The National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) has selected Data Solutions & Technology Incorporated (DST) as the recipient of the Eleanor J. Williams Bronze Eagle Award. This award recognizes organizations and corporations whose efforts have demonstrated the tenets of equal employment opportunity and have made significant contributions to the efforts, objectives, and goals of the NBCFAE.

In 1976 the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE) was established to combat discrimination and disparate treatment of Blacks, women and other minorities in the Federal Aviation Administration. The bronze eagle Roosevelt Lenard Jr., NBCFAE National Presidentaward was established in 1988 and was recently renamed to honor an NBCFAE member, Eleanor Williams, who devoted more than 30 years of service to the organization.

As the first African-American woman certified air traffic controller and the first African-American woman to manage a major en-route air traffic control center, the Cleveland ARTCC in Ohio which is the nation's second-busiest en-route air traffic control facility, Eleanor Williams was a national aviation pioneer.
