Hyattsville, Md, August 8, 2014 – Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce (PGCOC) Board member and Data Solutions & Technology Incorporated (DST) President & CEO Deborah Scott Thomas attended the “Middle Class Jumpstart: 100-Day Action Plan to Put the Middle Class First” press conference hosted by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Donna Edwards. The press conference was held at a local business.

The Democratic House Majority plans to pass concrete initiatives to jumpstart the middle class and those working to get into the middle class within 100 days. The three-pronged plan targets middle class job growth, women issues and affordable education opportunities.

“The middle class is suffering. It is extremely important for me, as a fellow American and business owner, to understand what we can do to help get our middle class community back on track,” Thomas said. “Vice President Joe Biden said it best, ‘a strong middle class equals a strong America. We can’t have one without the other.”

The press conference was planned by the PGCOC, a non-profit alliance of over 900 businesses. It is one of the largest chambers in the state of Maryland and the Washington Metropolitan region.
